I have known Mr Taylor professionally for approximately ten years. I have worked with him on many occasions in his capacity as a Veterinary expert witness.
Mr Taylor has always demonstrated that he is an extremely competent veterinary surgeon and highly skilled in providing expert evidence. His clinical examinations and initial investigations are always extremely thorough and are always supported by clinical notes and laboratory results which may include blood and faecal analysis or post mortem reports.
Mr Taylor’s written reports are professional and well written and he is able to explain his clinical findings and the relevance of them in a comprehensive manner that is easily understood by all parties.
His detailed understanding of the Animal Welfare Act 2006 ensures that he always provides a clear and unbiased opinion on whether an animal has suffered unnecessarily or whether there has been a failure to meet its needs. It enables the court and the legal advisors to gain a clear understanding of the clinical and scientific evidence and to readily assess the strengths and weaknesses of the prosecutions’ case.
Mr Taylor is extremely skilled in giving his oral evidence to the Court. He has a great ability to explain his findings clearly and give his opinion objectively. He has an excellent understanding of the legal process and is acutely aware of his duties to the court as an expert witness.
Mr Taylor’s expert evidence is well prepared and often leaves little opening for challenge under cross examination.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Taylor to others looking for an expert witness in this field.

I’m delighted that Sean is now recognised as an accredited expert. I have come across him regularly over the course of the last 5 years in my capacity of prosecution solicitor for the RSPCA. His reports are always professional and competent. When I see that he has been involved I am assured the case will have been properly prepared and the veterinary evidence will be sound.
When he has had to attend court to give evidence he has presented himself as a competent clear and reliable witness.
I would recommend Sean to others and indeed have recommended him to friends with animal problems – probably the best endorsement I can give.

Sean contributed well to discussions within the post graduate Forensics and Law course. It soon became clear that Sean had an enthusiasm and interest in the topic above an entry level veterinary graduate.
Sean often put himself forwards in academically challenging situations to push himself in an attempt to establish the boundaries of his knowledge and expertise within each section of the taught syllabus.
The European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies GP certificate in Forensics and Law covers a wide range of topics, some often under utilized and poorly understood in Veterinary practice. However, Sean was keen to learn new methods and incorporate new information into his existing knowledge.
His existing level of experience, methodical analysis and interpretation of material and clear communicative skills allowed me the confidence to provide him with real cases that involved live court work prior to finishing the course.
Sean finished the oral exam as a clear stand out performer and he is court ready.
